impermeabilização do solo com residências de baixa e média renda;
retificação de rios; área comercial; e área natural. Desta forma, o
impermeabilização do solo).
do Jardim Peri. A Unidade Microclimática I é caracterizada por residências
econômica vivem noutro ponto do bairro cujo setor apresenta temperaturas do

Evaluation of the island of urban heat in the North Zone of São Paulo: study of
Case of Jardim Peri's Neighborhood

Resumo em Inglês
The Urban Heat Island is a phenomenon present in the large agglomerated
centers. Its main feature is the difference in air temperature between
urbanized cities and rural areas. This phenomenon is mainly caused by the
type of use and occupation of the soil that man exerts on the earth's crust.
The materials that compose the waterproofing of the soil present greater
absorption of solar radiation in front of the vegetated areas, directly
influencing the air temperature and generating the urban Heat Island. To this
end, the Jardim Peri neighborhood located in the district of Vila Nova
Cachoeirinha in the Northern Zone of the municipality of São Paulo presents
these urban characteristics as waterproofing of the soil with low and middle
income households; river rectification; Commercial area; and natural area.
Thus, the study conducted in this neighborhood through the field analyzes
indicates that the temperature and relative humidity of the air in the Peri
Garden vary according to the type and the mode of use and occupation of the
soil. Based on this principle, the neighborhood was divided into three
Microclimatic Units and the results show that the highest temperatures are
within the Microclimatic Unit I (sector with little presence of vegetation
and intense urban waterproofing). On the other hand, the lowest temperatures
are in the Microclimatic Unit II (saw sector with intense presence of natural
vegetation of the Atlantic Rain Forest) and little waterproofing of the soil.
Finally, the temperatures that varied between Microclimatic Units I and II
are in Microclimatic Unit III (waterproofed sector with intense presence of
vegetation). The results also show that the thermal amplitudes of air
temperature in the Peri Garden reached 4.1 ° C, being elevated to a
territorial space studied under a reduced scale Topoclimatic. Another very
important issue is the association that the atmosphere has with the way of
life of the people in the neighborhood of Jardim Peri. Microclimatic Unit I
is characterized by low standard houses with zinc and asbestos roofs,
presenting high temperatures. On the other hand, the Microclimatic Unit III
has medium and high standard residences with ceramic or clay roofs and
intense leaf distribution, presenting milder temperatures. The type of
roofing materials and the intensity of the tree distribution are fundamental
elements that influence the atmospheric energy balance. Therefore, the less
affluent residents of the Jardim Peri neighborhood reside in simple dwellings
in a sector whose air temperature is high, being an Island of Urban Heat. On
the other hand, the inhabitants of greater economic acquisition live in
another point of the neighborhood whose sector has cooler air temperatures.
Therefore, the indicators indicate that the mode of appropriation of the
urban space in the Peri Garden has a class cut that can be discussed from the
perspective of the climatological analysis, since the conditions of the urban
life in the neighborhood express a mutual and direct relation with the
atmospheric phenomena.
